Ryan Booker

Ryan was born in Regina, Sask. and attended Stewart Russell School until moving to Davidson, Sask. in 2008. He moved back to Regina in 2012, attending Miller High School, where he graduated with honours. It was here that his interest in auto mechanics took off. He started work at Driven Automotive through the work experience program at school and after graduating, was hired on full time as an apprentice. He earned his journeyman’s papers four years later and worked at Driven ever since. He spoke very highly of his employer and coworkers. Ryan excelled at his profession and was voted Auto Value 2019 Canadian Technician of the Year.

Ryan loved the outdoors and took a keen interest in fishing and hunting at an early age. He spent countless days fishing the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, many times going well into the night with his headlights lighting the way at the boat launch. But hunting was his true passion. He would walk for hours through bush, pastures or sandhills just hoping for a glimpse of a big buck. He was selfless, so many times pushing bush for his friends and family in the hopes that they tag out before him, trying to ensure they enjoyed the outdoors as much as he always did. The experience always meant more to him than filling his tag.

Any chance Ryan got, he ventured to the mountains to spend time with his B.C. Family. In 2017, Ryan met Kaity and Cohen and by December 2018 they were engaged. In March 2020 they were blessed with Mercer. Ryan spent countless hours with his boys. If he wasn’t reading to them, he had them fully engaged in lightsaber battles or plotting other adventures. Always quick to share these “Proud Dad” moments with his family and friends.

When Ryan entered the room, the spotlight just seemed to shine on him. He was always the first to introduce himself, crack a joke and flash his contagious grin. It was important to him that the people around him have a good time and he always tried to make it happen. He was a generous, respectful, selfless man who always went above and beyond for others because it was the right thing to do.

Forever in our Hearts, Ryan will be truly missed by many. A Celebration of Ryan’s life was held in Davidson Sask. on July 31, 2022. Hanson’s Funeral Home of Davidson was in care of arrangements.
