Glen Elmer Mason

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Elmer Mason on Wednesday, August 3. 2022, at the age of 87.

Glen was born on April 18, 1935, in Davidson, SK, to Elmer and Leona (nee Riecken) Mason, who both emigrated to Canada from the United States. He met the love of his life, Phyllis McFadden at a square dance in Saskatoon. Phyllis was a nurse who had relocated from Nova Scotia and had hoped to marry a farmer. They married on July 26, 1969, and settled on a farm east of Davidson, where they stayed for many years until moving into town.

Dad farmed in the Davidson area until his retirement. He actively volunteered with many local organizations throughout his life and was always willing to help out family, friends and neighbours. He took many trips to Washington State to visit his son Robert and Robert’s three daughters and also spent time with Allan and his family near Saskatoon. Restoring Minneapolis Moline tractors and collecting and showing replica tractors were hobbies that Glen enjoyed very much.

Glen is survived by his two sons, Allan (Jocelyn Ainsworth) and Robert, four granddaughters: Kennedy, Camryn, Paige and Avery. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis, his parents, Elmer and Leona, and his sister, Lenora. He will be remembered by many Riecken cousins and friends in the Davidson area.

A service in Davidson and interment in Girvin Cemetery will be planned for the future when more family can attend.

Hanson’s Funeral Home of Davidson in care of arrangements.
