The Davidson Raiders senior football team began practising last week in preparation for this Friday’s game against Rosetown. It’s a brand new six-man football season for the Raiders in more ways than one.
They’re playing in a new conference against teams they’ve never played before. They’ll be playing against bigger schools, including Clavet, last year’s provincial champs. Their opponents in 2A, Conference 3 this season are: Rosetown, Biggar, Clavet, Outlook, Kindersley and Unity. The Raiders had 14 players out to practice last Tuesday evening. Coach Jason Low said they are expecting five more players on the team. The team is made up of players in grades 9 to 12 from Davidson, Loreburn, Kenaston and Craik schools.
