August 14, 1937 – October 17, 2019

Frank was born August 14, 1937 in the Chatham district, only child of John and Jessie Sagen. He attended school at Chatham, grades 1 through 8, and helped his parents farm. Frank got to and from school by either walking or on horseback, uphill both ways. Frank mentioned wrapping barbwire around his shoes for traction in the winter months. He was accepted to Bedford Road Collegiate School in Saskatoon, but due to the late harvest Frank did not go.

Frank married Joan Harris on October 24, 1959 at the Kenaston Evangelical Church (Church of the Hill). They moved to Saskatoon where Frank was employed at Asphalt Services Limited (ASL Services) and their sons Doug and Ken were born. In 1966 Frank and Joan moved to the farm and three more children were born, Jeff, Brian and Susan. The family enjoyed travelling to many places until Joan moved to the Lodge in 1985.

Frank farmed all of his life growing a variety of crops and raised chickens, pigs, cattle and milk cows. For many years, he farmed with his cousin Peter Forden until Peter’s passing and also with children. Frank was on the McCraney No. 282 council for two years 1975-1976. He sold small farm tools for Smith-Roles for 20 years and was a rep for Klassic Advertising in Saskatoon. Frank had a very creative mind trying to think of new things and ideas. He kept diaries since the early 1960s. Frank was vice president of the Seniors Club in Kenaston 2012-2013 and involved with the Optimist Club of Davidson, president 2012-2013. He was also a long-time member of the local co-ops.

Frank passed away at Davidson Health Care Centre on Oct. 17, 2019 where he had been a patient for two months.

Frank was predeceased by his parents John and Jessie and wife Joan. Frank is survived by five children and their families:

Doug (Caramell) and children Michelle (Devan), Haley (Zach) of Lloydminster; Ken of Kenaston; Jeff (Tara) and children Evan, Brett and Sara of Kenaston; Brian (Debbie) and children Chantel (Phillip) Elliot, Ryan (Brittney) and children Emma, Ian, Nicole (Mitchell) of Thorsby, Alberta; and Susan of Kenaston. A funeral service was held October 24, 2019 at Kenaston Place with Pastor Gregg Rustulka, Evangelical Missionary Church, officiating. Hanson’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

In loving memory of Florence Margaret Dolman, who passed away peacefully on October 17, 2019 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the age of 83. Flo was born in Wapella, Saskatchewan August 24, 1936, the fourth daughter of Alvin and Flora Nixon. She married Lyle Dolman in 1958; moved to the farm at Craik and raised four children while working as a nursing assistant at Craik Hospital. Flo enjoyed time with family and friends. She was very actively involved in the community as a volunteer and enjoyed camping, curling and golf. Her nature was to be a caregiver and even after she could no longer work in the hospital she provided support and care to others in a variety of ways.

Flo was predeceased by Lyle in 1993. She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Heather Truber (Terry); Richard Dolman; Nola Dolman and Neil Dolman (Carla) and grandchildren Alex Dolman; Lance Dolman; Ryan Truber (Sam); Evan Truber; Colton Dolman and Grace Dolman as well as her sister, Eleanor Sedgewick; sisters-in-law, Isabel Dolman and Eileen Dolman as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 2 pm in Craik Legion Hall, Craik, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Erin Jolene (Dougan) Gust, 38, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Saturday, October 12, 2019.

Erin was many things to many people in her short, well-lived life. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, cousin, aunt and the most loyal, beautiful friend anyone can ask for. Erin surrounded herself with good people throughout high school, university and beyond. Many have remained an important part of her life.

Erin and Billy were married on June 24, 2006. In their life together they travelled to many parts of this world experiencing different cultures and adventures most of us only dream about. Some of her favourite destinations were India, Hawaii, Europe, Alaska, New Zealand and the many sporting events with friends in the United States.

Before the travel bug bit, Erin completed her Masters of Accounting Degree at the University of Saskatchewan. She enjoyed her time working with Virtus Group in Saskatoon before becoming a mom. Erin became an integral part of Gust Farms working from home while raising their children. Billy and Erin were blessed with three amazing children, William, 9; Eva, 7, and Georgia, 5.

Three years ago Erin was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Her determination to win this fight became her legacy. Erin organized three walks in Davidson and raised thousands of dollars for brain tumour research. One of her wishes was for her walk to continue, raising awareness for this cause. Her family has promised Erin that her wish will happen. One day Erin’s efforts will be rewarded.

Erin lived life with no regrets and was truly fearless. She lived life to the fullest every single day. Erin will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and beautiful smile. She truly loved her family with her entire being. Leaving them was the hardest thing she ever did in her life. The greatest gift we can give Erin is to share her stories. To keep her alive in our hearts. To talk about Erin to her kids, and tell them all the amazing things she’s done. Talk about how she impacted your life and the lives around you.

A beautiful Celebration of Erin’s Life was held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the AGT Centre. An unbelievable gathering of family and friends came to say goodbye and surround her with love.

Erin will be deeply missed and forever loved by her husband Billy, son Will and daughters Eva and Georgia; her mom and dad Pat and Stuart Dougan; her brothers Andrew and Jarrett and Chandra (Ryan and Miles); her mother and father-in-law Lorraine and Steve Gust; brother-in-law Gerrid and Monica Gust (Hannah, Heather and Rhett); sisters-in-law Erin and Craig Kinder (Sam, Ivan and Mary) and Aileen and Aaron Martin (Lincoln and Gwen).

Erin is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Erin was pre-deceased by her grandparents Paul and Gladys Kergen, Helen and Wilmot Dougan, Bill and Kay Gust and Noe and Eva Lefebvre.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or Swimming Pool Playground Equipment Fund (cheques payable to the Town of Davidson). Hanson’s Funeral Home were in charge of the funeral arrangements. Interment was at the Davidson Cemetery.
