EMIL WILLIAM BAHT

Emil passed away peacefully early on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 after having spent the previous day visiting with each of his children and other members of his family.
Emil was born February 8, 1925, at Imperial, Sask. As a young man, he worked at Clarkson’s Garage where he met his future bride Anne Clarkson, whom he married in 1949. While helping Anne to raise their family of seven, Emil farmed his parents’ land, worked at the rink, and owned the Etter’s Beach store. The work nearest his heart, though, was farming, from which he retired only last year.
Emil was proud of his family and looked forward to the family gatherings.
He really enjoyed the game of cribbage and, right up to a few hours before his passing, played each game with enthusiasm.
Emil was predeceased by his parents George-Emil and Louise; his wife Anne (1984); four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his children Robert (Faye), David (Merlane), Jeannette Anderson (Garry), Murray (Louise), Garnet (Francine), Joanne Romich (Darwin), Micheal (Myrna); his brother William (Lucy); his brother-in-law Lynn Clarkson (Margaret-Anne); his sisters-in law, Joy Baht and Ethel Clarkson; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catton, Alta Pearl
Alta Pearl Catton was born on Dec. 16, 1916 on the Silverdale Stock Farm near Hanley. The sixth of nine children of Brooksbank and Lila Alta Catton, she spent almost her whole life in and around Hanley.
She went to school at Crescent View and Hanley schools then helped out on the family farm until she married Russ Richardson on Mar. 24, 1941 and moved to his farm near Strong Siding.
In 1944 they moved into town and remodeled a barn into a very comfortable, modern home where they lived and raised three strong, independent children. Alta was a full-time homemaker during these years, cooking and cleaning (her house was always spotless). She loved gardening and spending time in the yard. In later years she especially loved crocheting and won many awards at the local fairs for her precise work.
In 1957 the family moved to Hemet, California for a year, where Russ took on a building project to complete 15 small rental homes.
Alta and Russ divorced in 1970 and in the fall of 1972 Alta traveled all the way to Australia to spend a year with her son Ron and wife.
She moved into the seniors housing units in Hanley as soon as they were completed in the late seventies and lived there for more than 30 years.
Failing health forced her to move into Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon in 2010, but her health continued to deteriorate until she passed quietly on Dec 9, 2012, just one week short of her 96th birthday. A memorial service was held in Hanley on Dec. 14.
Alta is survived by her youngest sister Arlene and by her three children, Ron with wife Libby, daughter Linda, and son Don, as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lyndon Willner

It is with heavy hearts that Lorne, Marilyn, Brady and Linnea announce the death of our precious young man.

Lyndon was born Nov. 28, 1990 and died Oct. 21, 2012. His schooling was all at Davidson School except for the year he obtained his Heavy Machinery and Transport Technicians course in Saskatoon. Lyndon loved the snow and couldn’t wait to take out his ski-doo and was looking forward to an upcoming snowboarding holiday with his friends. He didn’t like the heat but loved wakeboarding with his brother. He also loved to bug his sister about her being short.

Lyndon was a kind, patient, compassionate, loving young man who loved his family, friends, home and the farm. He touched many lives deeply and will forever be greatly missed.
