Butler
Gene Mari Butler of Davidson, formerly of Bladworth, passed away peacefully at the Davidson Health Centre on May 5, 2013 at the age of 92.
She was born in Davidson, Sept. 29, 1920 to Ralph and Charlotte Lyke.
Later she married Carman Butler of Bladworth on July 27, 1944 at the farm at Girvin. They had two children: Donna Didur of Kenaston and Ross Butler of Calgary.
She was predeceased by husband Carman on Sept. 6, 1989. She was also predeceased by her parents Ralph and Charlotte Lyke, son-in-law Ivan Didur, daughter-in-law Laurel Butler, brother Roy Lyke and brothers-in-law Marvin Shewchuk and Ed Wiebe.
She is survived by daughter Donna Didur and her family: son Randy (Shawna); great-grandchildren Dawson, Cassandra, Christina and Patrick; also her great-great-grandchildren Reece, Jerzey, Aurora and Payton and son Bryon; and her son Ross Butler (Michele) and his family Whitney, Billy, Trela and Melissa.
Gene is also survived by sisters Joan Shewchuk and Helen Wiebe and sister-in-law Ramona Lyke along with several nieces and nephews.
She attended Reber School and got her Grade 10.
She helped haul stooks and cleaned houses in Girvin. After moving to Bladworth from the farm there she worked for a while in the grocery store and the telephone office. She also helped Dad clean the school.
She was a wonderful seamstress. She made lots of beautiful clothes. She also loved doing crafts and loved her flowers and gardening.
She belonged to the United Church where her burial service was held on May 11, 2013 with Rev. Diane Eurig presiding. The choir was in attendance and Daryl Mathers sang How Great Thou Art. She was buried in the family plot at Bladworth. Ross Butler was the pallbearer. Following the burial a lovely lunch was served at the Bladworth Elks Hall by the Bladworth Ladies. Hanson’s Funeral Home was in care of arrangements.

Robert Edward Bell

Hearts have been saddened with the passing of Robert Bell April 2, 2013 at his home in Kenaston, Sask. at the age of 69.
Bob will be dearly missed and always remembered by his sisters Grace Vetter and Laura Chomyshen and his niece and nephews John (Shelley), Karen, Brian, Calvin and Shelley, Brian, Darren, Bonnie and all their families.
Bob was a very quiet, gentle person who preferred to live a very reclusive lifestyle. He farmed most of his life in the Bladworth area.
The celebration of “Bob’s” Life Funeral Service was held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at graveside, family plot in the Bladworth Community Cemetery with Rev. Diane Eurig officiating. Soloist Daryl Mathers sang Amazing Grace, also two selections were When I Get Where I’m Going by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton and I Will Remember You by Sarah McLaughlin. Brian Hudson presented a tribute. Interment was at the family plot, Bladworth Cemetery.
Lunch and fellowship for all followed the committal at Mary Ann Chomyshen’s residence in Davidson. For friends so wishing memorials in memory of Bob may be directed to the charity of your choice.

Francesca Sperling (nee Reich)
1922 – 2013
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Fran, on June 2, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Fran was the youngest of seven children. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Katherine Reich; three brothers Nick, Chris & Johnny Reich; two sisters Katherine Lang & Jean Gottselig. She was also predeceased by her husband, Joe. She will be lovingly remembered by her family Bob (Bernice), Gordon, Lloyd (Denise), Jan Cook (Larry), Daniel, & Debra Dutton (Scott). Fran is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Anne Bruch; sisters-in-law Bernie Anderson, Emelia Sperling & Mary Reich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The most important and special part of Fran’s life, besides her family, was her love of and her natural ability for music; a gift she nurtured in all her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life, she played accordion in several bands including her family’s Reich Orchestra. In later years, she volunteered her musical talents to many senior homes in Regina. When her accordion became too cumbersome, she mastered the keyboard and continued to play until the last few weeks of her life. Our family would like to express our gratitude to those caregivers at Regina Lutheran Home who lovingly attended to her daily needs. A private family gathering to inter her ashes will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. White, Ethel
The family of Ethel Ellen White, known to her friends and family as “Lenny”, sadly announce the passing of their mother on the morning of May 2, 2013 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, Yorkton, Saskatchewan with family present.
Lenny was born on May 17, 1924 at Milner Ridge, Manitoba to Joseph and Mary (nee McKee) Nejedly. She was the middle child in a family of three and was predeceased by her parents as well as her older brother, Melvin and younger sister, Lois.
Her father worked as a surveyor for the Government of Canada, a job which took him all over Western Canada. Lenny’s mother worked at many jobs as the children grew up.
After High School, Lenny went to Washington, DC for a short time and worked as a secretary. She returned to Canada, where she met and married Louis Falardeau, and raised a family of three. After Louis’ sudden death, she took up a full time secretarial position with Saskatchewan Government Insurance in Regina until her retirement.
Shortly after her retirement, Lenny met and married Frank White, a farmer from the Davidson area. Once in Davidson, she worked at the Davidson Nursing Home. She and Frank also enjoyed travelling to many places in North America during their time together. She made many friends there who she continued to keep in touch with after leaving Davidson, following Frank’s death.
Lenny then made Saskatoon her home until February of 2012. While in Saskatoon, she enjoyed pursuing her love of music by attending many concerts with her son, Roger and by singing with the Western Development Museum Singers for about three years. She always enjoyed visiting with friends and family in Saskatoon, Regina, Davidson, Calgary, Vancouver and Yorkton.
In February of 2012, Lenny moved to Aspen Bluffs Villa in Yorkton and with changes in her health, came another move to her final residence at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home.
Over the years, Lenny always enjoyed music, learning new crafts, involvement with church choirs and participating in Rebekah Lodge.
Lenny is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Jacquelina and Paula (Brian) and her son, Roger; by her five grandchildren, Shawn (Janice) Sanford Beck, Jody (Michelle) Beck, Roberta (Dan) McFarlane, Crystal (Jamie) McKenzie and Darren (partner, Tracy) Falardeau; seven great-grandchildren have also been fortunate enough to be part of her life, Christopher, Rowan and Robin Sanford Beck, Noah and Cleo Beck and Aiden and Ethan McFarlane.
Lenny will also be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many other family members and friends who shared time with her on her life journey.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from St. John’s Anglican Cathedral, 816 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon, SK with lunch to follow. A Private Family Cremation Committal will follow in the Davidson Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. on the same day.

Floyd Stanley Clark
With sadness in our hearts, but a lifetime of love and memories to cherish, the family of Floyd Clark announces his peaceful passing at the age of 85 on April 12, 2013 at the Luther Special Care Home, Saskatoon.
Floyd was born on February 8, 1928 in Davidson, Sask. to Fred and Bertha Clark. On June 19, 1954 he married the love of his life, MaryAnne Jorgenson from Regina. They farmed in the Girvin/Craik rural community where they were blessed to raise their family. In 2009 they moved to Saskatoon where Floyd enjoyed the company of many friends who came for visits and also watching his favourite TV channel “Oasis”…or as he always called it “Osoyoos”.
Floyd was a quiet, gentle and patient man. Farming was his passion but his greatest pride and joy were his family whom he cherished deeply. He blessed our lives with his kind heart and generous spirit. Through difficult times, there was never a harsh word or any self-pity, only endurance, strength of character and expressions of thankfulness and joy, always being a living example of love and kindness. The way he lived his life is the legacy he left us: He was steadfast and committed to his family and had a personal relations and strong belief in a loving God. He never lost his great sense of humour, even to the end.
Floyd ad MaryAnne spent many winters as snowbirds in Palm Springs and Hawaii. Camping in the summers were also a highlight. He also loved fishing and hunting.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife MaryAnne; his two daughters and their spouses: Marcy (Glenn) Stauffer, Calgary and Valerie (Bob) Burron), Saskatoon; and special nephew Russell (Susan) Melle, Calgary. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Chad, Brett and Kristen Stauffer; Bobby and Janelle Burron; Tamara (Royce) Lewis and children Carter, Erica and Tyson; Derek (Jill) Melle and children Caiden and Ava; nephew Lyle; nieces Sherry (Ken) Harvey and Brenda (Tim) Reich and numerous family members. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Fred and sister-in-law Phyllis, sister Helen and daughter Debby.
A celebration of Floyd’s life was held on Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Davidson with Rev. Mark Emde officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Teen Challenge. Special thanks go to the dedicated and caring staff at Luther Care Home, Saskatoon. Arrangements entrusted to Hanson’s Funeral Home, Davidson.

Fenty
Dorothy Dean Fenty (Dixon) passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital on March 28, 2013. She was born in Melaval, Saskatchewan on July 29, 1928 to George and Margaret Dixon, and is predeceased by her husband John Fenty, two sisters, and four brothers. Dorothy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son George (Debbie) Fenty of Saskatoon, brother Ian Dixon of Moose Jaw, sister-in-law Shirley Dixon of Sylvan Lake, Alta., as well as many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Dorothy’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private burial will take place at the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw. George and Debbie are grateful to Jan Bennetto and her care home staff for their compassion and care over the past four-and-a-half years, and to the wonderful nurses on 5th Floor Medicine, St. Paul’s Hospital.
