It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Stephenson announce his passing on November 23, 2018 at the Davidson Health Care Centre.
Robert is survived by his loving family: Sister Grace (Lloyd) Surkan of Regina, aunt Elsie Pearn of Calgary and uncle Walter Sander of Drumheller.
Robert also leaves to mourn his extended family; Gary and Nancy and family, Kelly and Shelley and family and Clint and Sheila and family, all of Regina, Sherry Shick of Calgary, Gail Carleton of Ontario and Candy and Mike Roach of Saskatoon, as well as numerous cousins.
Robert was born in Davidson in 1941 and attended Cherry Grove School. He worked with his parents on the farm, land kept in the family for three generations. Robert enjoyed farm life, raising livestock as well as grain farming. He finally retired in 2008 and moved into Davidson.
Robert enjoyed sports, and could be found watching local hockey and curling games during the winter. He was also fond of coffee and dinners and never missed Agribition in Regina.
As well as supporting local sporting events, Robert supported local businesses. He would often say there was no need to go to the city, “I can get that in Davidson.”
A Celebration of Robert’s Life Funeral Service was held at the Davidson United Church on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. and Robert was laid to rest with his parents at the Davidson Community Cemetery. Donations in memory of Robert may be directed to the Davidson Junior Athletic Association or the Davidson Health Trust Fund.
