Mr. John W. Scott (Jack), beloved husband of Jenny passed away suddenly on August 13, 2021, at the Davidson Health Centre at the age of 88 years.
Jack was born in Davidson on March 29, 1933 to parents Adam and Henriette Scott. He was raised on a farm east of Davidson, along with his brothers Gordon and Dale and sister Margaret.
Jack’s parents passed away when he was very young. His grandmother, then raised him.
Jack started working as a young man. He worked for John and Kitty
Lockwood, helping with the farm work for a couple of years. He also
worked at Smith’s Sawmill in Northern Alberta for a winter, and at logging in British Columbia for another winter.
Jack started working for the R.M. of Arm River in the spring of 1955. He continued to work for the R.M. for 47 years, and helped out as needed after his retirement.
Jack and Jenny raised three children, Wade, Tammy and Robert. Unfortunately, Robert passed away in 1972.
Jack enjoyed seeing the world and made a couple trips out to Ottawa, Ontario to visit his brother, Gordon and his family. Jack even travelled to the east coast to meet family that Gordon had located. Gordon and Jack also travelled to Scotland to visit the area where the family had originated from and then to England to see the sights.
He loved that trip and the time spent with his brother.
Jack was a gentle and kind person, always willing to help out a friend, especially something in the mechanical field. If they needed a part made or an extra set of hands to do something, he was happy to help.
Jack spent a lot of time woodworking in the basement or puttering in the yard. He was always waiting for that next project that the
kids brought home for him to make.
His love was going for coffee to the coffee shop and visiting with all the guys.
Jack is predeceased by his parents, Adam and Henriette; wife, Genevieve; son, Robert; grandson, Aaron; brother, Gordon; sister, Margaret; sisters-in-law, Elsie Scott, and Elaine Scott; brothers-in-law, Lloyd McPherson, Bernie Faucon and Eugene Jr. Hammerer.
