Beverly Jean Oakes (DeClercq), beloved wife of George Oakes, passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 11 p.m. with George, and son Murray by her side.
Bev was born in Imperial in 1952. She attended school in Imperial and married George on Aug. 23, 1969. They had two boys, Raymond and Murray.
She had four granddaughters who she loved dearly, Kendel Anderson, Haley Oakes, Reese Oakes and Blayke Oakes.
As everyone knows, she also had a bunny farm with about 250 rabbits that she went and cared for every day.
Bev worked in Imperial as the Co-op Store Manager for 40 years, until she retired.
Bev will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A service for Bev will be held at a later date, Hanson’s Funeral Home of Davidson in care of arrangements.
