She is predeceased by her father and mother, her husband George Cruise, brothers Jim, Dick and Bill Parker, sisters Evelyn McCutcheon, Marguerite Lang, and Loyce McNeil.

Ruth is survived by her sister Mary McGuigan, her daughters Rose Anne Cooper and Carol Beerling, grandchildren Carey, Jody, Jessica, Scott, Cole, and Andrew. She was also blessed with eleven great grandchildren: Haven, Tyler, Mairin, Georgia, Lochlan, Ryann, Rowan, Cullen, Gage, Beau, and Olivia.
Ruth attended school in the country and afterwards worked in Regina at the “Grey Nuns Hospital” (now the Pasqua Hospital). She met George Cruise and they were married on July 23, 1954. Rose Anne was born in June 1955 and Carol was born in July 1956, both at Imperial Hospital. They established their farm 7.5 miles west of Stalwart and continued to farm there until George’s death in 2001.

Ruth enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and fishing with George and family and friends. They also spent a lot of time at Etter’s Beach where they had a cabin for many years. Ruth hosted birthday and anniversary parties at the farm and many neighbours dropped in for her famous cinnamon buns. Ruth loved cooking and decorating wedding cakes for family and friends. She also became very skilled at sewing, including grad dresses, dance costumes and many other garments for her daughters and grandchildren. She loved a good party and was always happy to attend hockey games, concerts and dance recitals to cheer on her grandkids.

In 2015, Ruth had open heart surgery in Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Since then she has lived in Saskatoon, most recently at St. Ann’s Senior Citizen Village where she passed away peacefully September 11, 2024. She will be sadly missed by friends and family.
