It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Howard. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Helen, and his 4 children Ken (Joanne) Laureen
Tim (Debra) and Tom (Cori) with several grand and great grandchildren.
Howard grew up in the farming community of Aylesbury, Saskatchewan. In 1963 he moved his family from town to their farm, having built a home and developed a farmyard.
He took a great interest in sport, partaking in hockey at Melville with the Millionaires, Kelowna with the Packers and MooseJaw with the Playmors. While on the farm he drove most evenings for either practice or games in MooseJaw. He enjoyed playing baseball and was the towns ‘draw’ master at the curling club for some years.
Once he quit farming in Aylesbury, he and Helen spent time in Kelowna before moving to Calgary then Cochrane. Howard spent the last 6 years of his life at the Bethany Care Center in Cochrane.
Helen and Howie spent 32 wonderful winters in Arizona enjoying golfing and hiking- his greatest special achievement was hiking the Grand Canyon
A simple family gathering will occur soon with Howard’s ashes to be interred in Aylesbury cemetery.
