It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Frances Verlee Lund was born in Young, SK. on May 16, 1936. She grew up in Davidson, married Roy Ziefflie in 1955 and together they raised a family of six. After Roy’s passing in 1981 Verlee moved to Saskatoon. She married William Bate in 1985. She worked at many jobs throughout her life including telephone operator, care aid in the Davidson home and hospital and medical receptionist. She was especially proud of becoming an LPN in 1983 and working for various homecare companies. After retirement, she continued volunteering and caring for elderly friends. Verlee’s early years were filled with figure skating, curling and cultivating life-long friendships. Music was a large part of her life and she enjoyed everything from church hymns to jazz and pop. She was especially close to her sister Elaine and together they attended the Jazz Festival, made Christmas cake and traveled to visit their brother Perry. Verlee painted, played the organ and loved having her large family over for holiday meals. She loved to watch old movies, TV shows and sports and recently learned to play bridge. She was a devout Christian and spoke fondly of her Bible study group. Verlee felt all meals should be shared with loved ones, perfectly cooked and always said that she hoped there was eating in heaven. Verlee was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Frances Lund, stepmother Edna Lund, first husband Roy Ziefflie, second husband Bill Bate, and son David Ziefflie. She leaves to mourn her sister Elaine (Norbert) Reich; brother Perry (Ardene) Lund; children Lee (Jordan) Ward, Tim (Mary) Ziefflie, Jille Ziefflie, Roxanne (Eldon)Ziefflie, and Scott Ziefflie; grandchildren Dan (Becky) Ward, Paul Ward, Corey (Joelyn) Ward, Matthew (Amy)Ward, Rebecca Ward, Brook (Kathrina) Byrns, Alyssa (Dave) Byrns, Mackenzie (Ryan) Byrns, Jessika (Alex) Agioritis, and Karissa Ziefflie; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Verlee passed away peacefully after a brief illness on March 15, 2019. Her children would like to thank the nurses and doctors who cared for Verlee the last few months. The celebration of Verlee’s life was held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Brethren Church, 130 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon. Burial will be a private family ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to a charity of your choice. Spencer, Dr. Gordon
Dr. Gordon Hilton Spencer, 95 years old, passed away on March 14, 2019, in Calgary, Alberta. Born on the farm near Penzance, Sask.; the youngest of eight children to Harriet and Nigel Spencer. Gordon practiced veterinary medicine in the Westlake Veterinary District as well as managing the family farm. Gordon married Muriel Martin from Watrous, Sask, in 1950. They started their family of five children on the farm before moving to the town of Craik in 1961. Gordon was very active in the community giving his time to such activities as teaching Sunday School, leading the youth group, steering the Lions Band, and leading the 4-H calf and horse clubs. In 1969 Gordon moved the family to Saskatoon, when he accepted a position with the Government of Canada, Department of Agriculture, Meat Inspection Division. In 1973, he accepted a position in Calgary as the Assistant Veterinarian with the Meat Inspection Division and later promoted to Supervisor, Central Alberta and Northwest Territories. Gordon retired 1988.
In Calgary, Gordon was a respected member of the Deer Park United Church. Gordon was a church elder and helped coordinate the seniors club for many years.
Gordon leaves behind his wife, Muriel, of 68 years and all five children; Dawn (Paul), Richard, Merle (Bruce), Owen (Barb), and Jenny (Mark). Nine very much loved grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Gordon’s family would like to thank the staff at Revera MacKenzie Towne for the care they gave Gordon.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. March 30, 2019 at Deer Park United Church; officiated by Rev. Tom Melvin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mustard Seed Calgary
Allan Keith Schulz
October 10,1935 – January 23, 2019
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Allan Keith Schulz announce his passing, after a brief battle with cancer.
Al was born in Davidson Saskatchewan on October 10, 1935, and spent his last days in Stony Plain Alberta, where he died on January 23, 2019 at the age of 83.
Al is survived by his wife Joyce and his son Don (Sherry) of Edmonton, Alta., his brothers Ron (Bea) of Torrington, Alta., Morris (Lynn) of Thompson, Manitoba, sisters Nina of Davidson, Sask., Wilma (Ron) of Good Spirit Acres, Sask. and Joyce (Andy) of Port Coquitlam, BC., as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and one Aunt Ada of Regina, Sask.
Al was predeceased by his father Carl in 1963, his mother Catherine (Kay) in 2001, and his brother-in-law Bob (Nina) in 2017.

Reginald Walter Bagg
October 27, 1938 – February 22, 2019
It is with a heavy heart the family announces the passing of Reg on Friday Feb. 22, 2019. He left comfortably and peacefully in the Davidson Health Centre with family by his side.
Reg was born on Oct. 27, 1938 in Yorkton, Sask. to parents Reg and Anna Bagg.
He is survived by his loving wife Clara, his children Marvin (Karen), Janet (Dan), Brad, Dwight (April) and Carla (Mike); his grandchildren Kris (Laura), Kattlyn (Irene), Kyle (Victoria), Ashley (Bryson), Klarissa (Daniel), Hailee, Riley, Robbi, Mikala and Keegan and 3 great-grandchildren Keenan, Kaden and Eleanor as well as other relatives and good friends.
Reg grew up and graduated school in Springside. After graduation Reg worked for several farmers in the area. At that time Clara was working for her sister at a farm near Springside where she met Reg. After they were married he became an elevator manager. He bought grain for Federal Grain, National Grain and moved to Aylesbury in 1973 where he bought grain for P&H until his retirement in 1994. Upon retirement Reg became a passionate cattle rancher near Aylesbury. He was a very proud cattleman. He was a gardener, ball player and avid coach, curler, hockey player and a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Reg loved being around family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Reg’s Life will be held at Aylesbury Hall on Thursday March 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Reg may be directed to the Aylesbury Hall, Aylesbury Cemetery or the Aylesbury Rink.

Winnifred Anderson
Wynnie Anderson (nee Hunter) passed away in Saskatoon at the Royal University Hospital at the age of 93. Wynnie was born to parents Vern and Muriel Hunter near the town of Hawarden, SK. She grew up the eldest of 5 children and attended the Cosmopolitan Rural School. After graduating high school, Wynnie completed a secretarial course at Belfour Technical School in Regina and went on to work for the Royal Bank (Regina) and the National Grain Company (Saskatoon). In 1949, she married Max Anderson and lived on the Anderson homestead, 5 miles southeast of Hanley. In addition to working with her husband on the Anderson Farm and raising their 4 children, she worked as a secretary at the Hanley High School for 5 years. Wynnie always believed in the importance of lifelong learning and modelled it for her children and grandchildren. After 40 years on the farm, she and Max moved into the town of Hanley. Max died in April 1995 after a lengthy illness in which Wynnie was his constant caregiver. Wynnie remained in their home for 15 years before moving to Luther Tower in Saskatoon.
Wynnie is survived by her children, Lorne Anderson (Anne Wagner), Dawna Dubyk (David), Perry Anderson (Roxanne), Scott Anderson (Corinne); her dearest sister, Leone Bohrson; her brothers, Dennis Hunter (Muriel) and Robert Hunter (Vale); sister-in-law, Valborg Hunter; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, Dean Anderson (Trisha, c: Rhett, Brady), Clayton Dubyk (Jacqueline, c: Amelia, Mya), Blair Dubyk (Ruth, c: Seth, Nina), Jay Dubyk (Ashleigh), Kara Dubyk (Adam), Angie Anderson (Ray Breckner, c: Kalea, Hunter, Carter, Tyson), Erik Anderson (c: Layla, William, s: Kim Hanson), Cole Anderson (Leanne), Karlee Anderson, Brandi Anderson, Darren Anderson, Amanda Anderson (Kelby Price c: Madelyn), Brooke Anderson, Hanna Anderson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Max Anderson; her parents, Vern and Muriel Hunter; and stepfather Art Hunter; her brother, Jim Hunter; step-sisters, Irene Remmen (Ivor), Yvonne Nielsen (John), Lucille Durward (Merle), step-brother, Ray Hunter; brothers-in-law, Bob Bohrson and Carmen Anderson; sisters-in-laws, Frances Loberg (Peter), Blanche Loberg (Ernie), Margie Zdunich (Victor); daughters-in-law, Susan Anderson and Cathy Anderson.
A celebration of Wynnie’s life took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Hanley Evangelical Lutheran Church. Donald Wayne Deaver
March 1947 – February 2019
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald, Feb 10, 2019, at St Paul’s Hospital. He is survived by his wife Fay Deaver, sons Cameron Deaver (Kim), Christopher Deaver (Zulma), stepchildren Dawn Grant (Andrew), Jon Farmer (Connie), Rae Farmer (Geninne), his brothers Robert Deaver (Audrey), and Greg Deaver (Sherry), as well as his brother-in-law Scott Van Impe, nieces, nephews, and cousins, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many special friends. Don was predeceased by his father and mother Earl and Doris Deaver. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his willingness to help anyone that asked for it, his love of laughter, but what will be missed the most is the great love he had for his family. Don enjoyed farming for many years, as well as telling stories about his farming days, he also enjoyed repairing and showing antique cars. As requested by Don there will be no funeral service.
