Davidson School students and staff wore
purple shirts to school last Thursday to raise awareness of Rett Syndrome, a
rare non-inherited genetic neurological disorder. They had a special guest with
them Marlee Schneider and her mom Heidi who were sitting in the middle of the
purple crowd. Marlee has Rett Syndrome and visited the school to pose for a
picture with the school kids. October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. As a
show of support, people throughout Canada have been lighting their homes and
businesses with purple lights.

Frank Nizinkevich grew this whopper of a red potato. It weighs three pounds, 11 ounces, outweighing a potato grown by his daughter Michelle Ringdal by one pound (featured in the Sept. 30, 2019 edition of The Davidson Leader). Please keep sending us pictures of your garden fines. Email davidsonleader@sasktel.net, text 306-567-8638 or stop by the office and we’ll take a picture.
This beet just about walked away when its gardener tried to pluck it out of the ground. Thank you to Mary Walker’s granddaughter for sending us this picture.
